Nick Ruehl, AIA, Director of Design and ProjectsPrior to joining Emprimus as Director of Design and Projects, Nick served as a Managing Principal and Board Member of a regional architecture/engineering/construction company located in the upper-Midwest United States. For over 38 years Nick has been a designer, project manager, and Principal-in-charge on both public and private sector projects. In his role as Managing Principal, he also served in both corporate leadership and management roles. Nick has considerable experience in the negotiation and administration of architectural and construction contracts, and has acted as owner’s representative for a national real estate investment client for numerous commercial projects across the U.S. He has been successful in resolving difficult owner/architect/contractor disputes, and has been called on several times to assess and re-direct projects that were dysfunctional. He has served as an Expert Consultant for several cases on issues ranging from water infiltration and construction defects to professional liability claims. Nick is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Minnesota Construction Association, the American Consulting Engineering Council of Minnesota, the Urban Land Institute, and the Association for Psychological Type International.
